It's been awhile!

I got bored quickly...but have been to so many amazing places since I last blogged! Time to pick it back up!

Last week I was in Maryland (Potomac to be exact). I got out of work at 4pm on Friday, and my flight was not until 8pm.

One of my very favorite things to do is getting lost on purpose! Full tank of gas and a GPS should I need to find my way out. I headed out of work with no destination in mind.

Ended up taking a gorgeous 8 mile drive on dirt country roads!

After an hour, I decided I should GPS it. The GPS directions included a FERRY! I thought "oh, how awesome, what am I getting into".

I found the ferry sign "Historic White's Ferry"...which is the only ferry still operating on the Potomac River! What a fun thing to stumble upon. Shorty ferry ride into Leesburg, beautiful view.

A little about the ferry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White's_Ferry

While on the ferry...I got out my traveling best friend. My iPhone! Yelp let me a to a brewery a few miles down the road. SCORE! Nothing like a pint of tasty brew before hopping on a plane!

MacDowell Brew Kitchen! Right in Leesburg, a beautiful little town. Quaint! It was 60 and sunny...a bit chilly for the outdoor patio, until I saw the roaring fire pit. Grabbed my brew and found a seat. The patio is really awesome, sand pit, fire, a small stage and more. I will be back.

The beer selection was pretty awesome too.

While sipping my delicous brew, I overheard a table of women talking about Kentucky accents! I had to laugh. I surprised them with my California Valley girl voice, and told them I lived in Kentucky. They were a bit embarrassed, but I promised them I thought it was hilarious. Finished my beer, paid my tab...and headed back to my Old Kentucky Home!
